Rail works: Two weeks of train disruptions on The Hague-Rotterdam route
People traveling by train between The Hague and Rotterdam can expect disruptions to the train service for over two weeks. ProRail will work on the track between the Delft Campus and Rotterdam Central Station from March 12 to 27. No trains will run between these two stations during the work. NS will use buses instead.
On March 15, there will be no trains to and from Rotterdam Central Station at all. The day after, Rotterdam CS will be accessible by train again, but there will be far fewer trains until 6:00 p.m.
People traveling from The Hague to Rotterdam or vice versa can detour via Gouda. Incidentally, there will be no trains between Rotterdam CS and Gouda on March 29 and 30. Then, travelers can travel via Den Haag CS.
During the work, people can also use metro line E. During previous disruptions on the track, many travelers chose this option, making the metro very crowded. The RET will, therefore, run a metro more often during rush hour, but the advice is still to avoid line E during rush hour.
