A 60-year-old Dutch man died in a high-speed car crash in Düsseldorf on Saturday morning, according to German police. Five others, including three Dutch passengers and two bystanders, were injured in the incident.

Police said the man was driving at an excessively high speed when he entered a roundabout and lost control of his BMW. The vehicle flipped multiple times before coming to a stop near a bus stop. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three Dutch passengers in the BMW were injured. Two 53-year-old men sustained critical injuries and are hospitalized in life-threatening condition. Another Dutch passenger also suffered serious injuries and is receiving medical care.

Two pedestrians were injured in the crash. A 54-year-old man from Düsseldorf, who was standing at a bus stop, was struck by debris from the car. He was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 69-year-old woman riding a bicycle was hit by the car and taken to a hospital with severe injuries.

The crash caused extensive damage to infrastructure. Traffic lights, streetlights, and guardrails were heavily damaged. Police are investigating the incident, which occurred near Nordfriedhof cemetery, several kilometers from Düsseldorf Airport.
