RAI events to proceed after 'serious threat' leads to concert cancellation

Events scheduled at the RAI convention center in Amsterdam will continue as planned despite the abrupt cancellation of a concert by Afghan singer Sharafat Parwani on Saturday evening due to a "serious threat."

According to the police, the nature of the threat remains undisclosed, citing concerns about sharing "perpetrator information." The decision to cancel the event was made in coordination with law enforcement and event organizers.

A spokesperson for the RAI stated that the threat was "an isolated situation" and emphasized that other planned events at the venue are unaffected. "We followed the guidance of the authorities," said the spokesperson.

The annual Horecava hospitality trade fair, a major industry event, is set to open at the RAI on Monday without disruptions.

The spokesperson added that refunds for attendees of Parwani’s canceled concert would be managed by the event organizers. “I expect visitors will be informed about this soon,” she said, but did not provide further details.

The police continue to investigate the threat and have not released additional information about its origin or potential suspects.
