Dinner Train still owes customers €820,000 for unfulfilled trips

Dinner train curator Fred Roger from Rassers Advocaten has said that the bankrupt company owes 820,000 euros to thousands of customers who have missed out on dinners that they had already paid for. He added that the guests are not the only debtors, as there are also suppliers who have claims. Four parties are currently interested in taking over the company or a part of it.

According to Froger, the suppliers with claims are also owed around 300,000 euros. The business, which offered luxury dinners in a moving train, was declared bankrupt last week after weeks of problems. “It remains to be seen how much is possible when it comes to a restart,” Froger added.

Interested parties would receive quite a lot of cutlery and office inventory. The technological system and the reservation system may also be taken over. Froger explained that taking over the customer files is difficult as European privacy laws do not allow that easily.

Dinner Train also went bankrupt in 2019. The material and brand name Dinner Train were then taken over by the Train Charter Events, owned by entrepreneur Tim Beltz, with the help of several investors. Under the name Train Events, Beltz also offered companies the possibility of booking a train as a mobile event location. These activities are now also bankrupt.
