Dutch rescue team in France continues search for missing Dutch tourist, 73

The RHWW Rescue Dog Foundation continued its search on Sunday in south France for 73-year-old Dutch tourist Marjan Roozendaal, who had been missing since last week. A spokesperson for the search team announced that the search on Saturday was unsuccessful.

The team, which consists of 19 people and 14 dogs, continued the search on Saturday until nightfall. The group plans to start again at around 6 a.m. on Sunday.

Marjan Roozendaal disappeared last week after leaving the Parc Le Duc campsite in Vacquières. According to several media reports, the woman's family is very worried as she is in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease.

According to Roozendaal's daughter, the camera footage shows the 73-year-old walking off the campsite last Sunday and looking confused. "It's Strange because she knows she has Alzheimer's and would never leave the park on her own," the daughter told AD.

For data protection reasons, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs cannot discuss the woman's state of health, but it provides assistance.

Roozendaal's family contacted the Rescue Dog Foundation last Wednesday and asked for help, Louse Smits-Jansen of the foundation told Hart van Nederland. "Fortunately, we also have a lot of cooperation from the police and embassy there. Everyone is working together very well."
