One teen killed, one critically injured in Amsterdam Nieuw-West shooting
A shooting on Etnastraat in Amsterdam Nieuw-West left two teenagers critically injured just after midnight on Thursday. One of the two died from his injuries at an area hospital, police said later in the day. The case is still under investigation.
Emergency services responded to Etnastraat in the Lutkemeer business park after receiving a report of shots fired at around 12:15 a.m. on Thursday. "Officers then found people with gunshot wounds on both Etnastraat and Lutkemeerweg. Both seriously injured victims had to be rushed to hospital," police said in a statement.

One of the two victims, identified as an 18-year-old man from Amsterdam, died during the early morning hours. The other victim was identified as a 17-year-old boy also from the capital.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remained unclear. The police cordoned off Etnastraat at various points for investigation.
"The police are investigating the case and are urgently looking for people who may have more information and/or relevant camera images," police said in a statement.
