Finance planner suspected of illegal abortion in death of woman, baby

Dennis van E., a 48-year-old financial planner and pension expert who was taken into custody last month after a woman and a baby were found dead in his Diemen home, is suspected of illegal abortion and death through negligence, the Public Prosecution Service announced on Tuesday. He was remanded into custody for another two weeks.

The bodies of the woman and child were found in the home on Martin Luther Kinglaan on October 18th. Van E. was detained later that same day. Newspaper AD reports that the woman was 32 years old. The Public Prosecution Service released no details about the baby's age or development, including whether or not the child had been born yet.

A neighbor previously told newspaper AD that Van E. had been living in the home for years and that the woman moved in a few weeks before she was found dead. He thought she was South American. "And that there was a baby in the house, I didn't know at all."
