Over a dozen guns seized after tipster calls police for help
Police dispatched to the scene of a home on Troelstrastraat in Rotterdam found over a dozen guns, some cash, and also a small quantity of drugs and drug paraphernalia on Thursday night. A call to emergency services requesting assistance at the house brought authorities to the scene, and two men took off running when the officers were spotted.
One of the two, a 29-year-old from The Hague, was captured and held by authorities. A 26-year-old man from Rotterdam with minor facial lacerations was also taken into custody when he refused to identify himself, police said.
Authorities searching the home found 13 firearms, 18 gun magazines, and several hundred pieces of ammunition. Small quantities of cocaine, hashish, and heroin were also found, along with some items police said were used for drug trafficking.
The suspect from the Hague was also carrying about a thousand euros in cash and a small knife, police said. The second suspect who fled the scene was still being sought by police.
Any witnesses with knowledge of the incident, or anyone who knows the whereabouts of the missing suspect, were asked to call investigators in Rotterdam.
