Drug dealer held in teen's fatal MDMA overdose
The police arrested a 32-year-old man from Winkel in the investigation into a 17-year-old girl's fatal MDMA overdose. The man is suspected of selling the drugs to the minor girl, the police said in a statement.
The teenager became ill in a Schagen home after using MDMA during the early hours of December 1st last year. She was resuscitated and rushed to the Medical Center in Alkmaar, where she passed away. The police launched an investigation. After talking to a large number of witnesses and conducting forensic and toxicological investigations, the police determined that the girl died of an MDMA overdose.
The suspected drug dealer was arrested last week Wednesday. A large amount of MDMA was found in his home. The man is suspected of selling hard drugs to a minor and possession of a large amount of hard drugs. He will be arraigned on Friday.
Two other suspects were also arrested in this case. They have since been released from custody, but are still considered suspects.
