Utrecht teenagers arrested for mugging school kids
The Utrecht police arrested three teenagers on suspicion of mugging school children in Vleuten and Leidsche Rijn. Cycling pupils were mugged multiple times on their way home from school in January. The muggers stole money and belongings, the Telegraaf reports.
Investigation led the police to three boys aged 13, 14 and 16 from Utrecht. They are linked to one of four muggings. Their involvement in the other three crimes is still under investigation.
The police previously warned pupils of the Amadeus Lyceum in Vleuterweide to travel to school and home in groups, and to be cautious when carrying items that may be attractive to muggers, like speakers and headphones.
