One shot dead on Hague street

A man was shot and killed in The Hague on Tuesday afternoon. The incident happened on Netscherstraat in Schilderswijk at around 1:00 p.m. Shortly after the shooting a person turned themselves in at a police station. The person was arrested and the police are investigating their involvement, NOS reports.

So far the police said nothing about the identity of the victim or suspect. A local resident told Omroep West that the victim lived in an apartment on Nescherstraat. "A separate figure", the resident described him. Most of the people in the apartment building know him only by site, the resident said.

The police placed a tent over the victim's body on the street and closed the crime scene off with screens. A home across from where the shooting happened was guarded by police officers, according to Omroep West. Neighbors told the newspaper that this is where the suspect lives.
