Victim, 64, dies week after Rotterdam shooting

A 64-year-old man who was critically injured in a shooting on Willem Ruyslaan in Rotterdam on October 17th, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, the police said in a statement.

The man was gunned down at close range while sitting in his car. He was hit by multiple bullets. A passenger in the car escaped unharmed.

The perpetrator fled on a scooter, but crashed into a car on 's Gravenweg. From there he fled on foot. He is still at large.

The victim had a criminal record and the police believe this was an underworld assassination.
