Girl, 17, stabbed in Utrecht; suspect arrested

A 17-year-old girl was injured in a stabbing on Livingstonelaan in Utrecht on Monday. A suspect was arrested shortly after the incident, the Utrecht police said on Twitter.

A trauma helicopter was deployed to provide first aid to the injured girl. She was taken to hospital. The extent of her injuries is not clear, but she was conscious and talking, a spokesperson for the police said to NU.nl.

Nothing was revealed about the identity of the suspect. According to the police, there are "strong indications that the victim and suspect know each other".
