13-year-old stabbed to death in Schiedam; Young teen arrested
A 13-year-old boy was stabbed to death on the Fjorddal in Schiedam on Sunday evening. The police arrested another 13-year-old boy for the crime.
The stabbing happened at around 5:20 p.m., the Rotterdam police said on X. A local told Rijmond that the young victim came out of the forest and rang the doorbell at a home. The residents called the emergency services.
Several ambulances responded, stabilizing the boy at the scene before rushing him to a hospital. The police reported later in the evening that he died of his injuries.
Shortly after 6:00 p.m., the police arrested another 13-year-old boy from Schiedam in a home around 50 meters from the Fjorddal. According to Rijnmond, cops put the boy’s hands in plastic bags when they arrested him, presumably to protect trace evidence.
The police also searched the forest with dogs, finding a large kitchen knife in the forest in Schiedam-Sveapark.
It is not yet clear how the two boys knew each other. The police are investigating what happened.
