Shooting at Roermond school; pupil arrested
The police arrested a 16-year-old boy after a shooting at the Kennis- en Expertisecentrum (KEC) de Donderberg in Roermond on Friday morning. No one was injured, NOS reports.
The boy arrived at te school with a firearm at around 8:30 a.m. He fired multiple shots, both inside and outside the school. No one was hit.
Teachers tried to keep the teenager talking while the police responded. Officers arrived a few minutes later and overpowered the boy outside the school.
The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident, but believe a conflict with another pupil at the school may be involved.
KEC is a center for special education and care. The school refused to comment on the incident, according to NOS. A meeting will be held for parents and others involved on Friday afternoon.
