Second suspect arrested for attack on Panorama building
A second suspect was arrested for firing a rocket launcher at the building housing magazine Panorama in Amsterdam, the police confirmed on Wednesday. The man from Rotterdam was arrested on Monday.
On June 21st a rocket launcher was fired at the building on Teleportboulevard. No one was injured, but considerable damage was done to the building. A suspect was arrested shortly afterwards. He is still in custody, but is no longer suspected of firing the anti-tank weapon at the building. He is a member of outlaw motorcycle club Caloh Wagoh Main Triad.
According to the police, it is not yet clear whether this new suspect is also a member of an outlaw motorcycle gang. He is in restricted custody, which means he is only allowed contact with his lawyer.
The motive behind the attack on the Panorama building is still unclear. There is speculation that it may be related to stories the magazine published, specifically stories about two suspects standing trial for the murder of an Amsterdam criminal who was a member of Caloh Wagoh Main Triad, according to NOS.
The Telegraaf building in Amsterdam was attacked a few days after the attack on Panorama. Whether these two incidents are connected, is not yet clear.
