Arrested man no longer suspected of firing rocket launcher at Panorama building
A 41-year-old man arrested on suspicion of firing a rocket launcher at the Amsterdam building that houses Panorama and Nieuwe Revu, is no longer suspected of firing the weapon. He was not at the crime scene when the shooting happened, the Public Prosecutor said on Monday.
The man was remanded into custody for another 90 days, because "there are strong indications that he played an important role in the (preparation of the) shooting", the Prosecutor said. The suspect, who is a member of motorcycle club Caloh Wagoh Main Triad, was arrested a few hours after the shooting.
The incident happened on June 21st. A projectile was fired at the Pijper Media building on Teleportboulevard, causing a large amount of damage. No one was injured.
The police are investigating whether this incident is connected to an attack on the building housing De Telegraaf last week.
