Baby dies after emergency C-section in bakery

A baby that was born in an emergency cesarean section in a bakery in Hulst last week Monday, passed away, according to an obituary placed in PZC

The baby was delivered with an emergency cesarean section after the mother went into cardiac arrest in the bakery. The woman was resuscitated and she and the baby were rushed to hospital. The woman passed away last week Wednesday.

"The entire Hulst is in deep mourning", mayor Jan-Frans Mulder said after the mother's death, according to AD. "It is a personal drama, everyone in Hulst sympathizes intensely with the family. The emergency services staff did their best and did a very good job, for them too this is terribly profound." The mayor called on everyone to give the family peace in this sad period.

"Everyone is intensely sad", an acquaintance of the family said to RTL Nieuws last week. "We can't understand it yet. It was her last day before her maternity leave. It is terrible, such a great sadness."
