Mother and child, 2, seriously hurt after fall from Utrecht flat
A woman and her 2-year-old child were both seriously injured in a fall from a 4th floor apartment in Overvecht on Thursday night. The woman jumped out of the window with the child in her arms, the police confirmed to the Telegraaf on Friday morning.
Mother and child were rushed to hospital. Their current condition is unknown. "It's a miracle that both survived", a police spokesperson said to the newspaper.
The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. at an apartment building on Othellodreef, near Utrecht Overvecht station. Bystanders found the woman and child in some bushes.
Whether the woman will be prosecuted is not yet clear. "The Public Prosecutor will make that decision later today. We're investigating in what condition the woman was when this happened", the police spokesperson said to the Telegraaf.
