Two arrested for fatal Amsterdam Zuidoost shooting
The police arrested two men in connection with a fatal shooting on Krootstraat in Amsterdam Zuidoost on Wednesday night. The suspects are 22 and 23 years old and both from Amsterdam, Het Parool reports.
The shooting happened around 11:10 p.m. One person died at the scene. A 29-year-old man from Amsterdam was injured and taken to hospital.
The first suspect was arrested shortly after the shooting in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene. He matched the description of the perpetrator. The second suspect was arrested a short time later. Their involvement in the shooting is being investigated.
The police are also investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and the motive behind it.
A moving car was also shot at during the incident. The car was tracked down in IJburg, but seems to have nothing to do with the shooting, according to the police.
The police call on witnesses to come forward.
