Shots fired at another Amsterdam cafe

Four shots were fired at a cafe in the Geuzenfeld neighborhood in Amsterdam Nieuw-West around 5:00 a.m. on Monday, local residents told RTL Nieuws.

No one was injured - the cafe was empty at the time of the shooting.

As far as is known, this shooting is not related to another shooting at a cafe in De Pijp earlier on Monday morning. Two persons were seriously injured in that shooting. One underwent surgery, the other received treatment in hospital, according to the broadcaster.

Contrary to previous reports on the shooting in De Pijp, the police now believe that a hand gun was used in the shooting, instead of an automatic firearm, RTL Nieuws reports. According to the broadcaster, a scooter was seen speeding away from the scene.
