Victim in Amsterdam shooting dies
A man shot on Piet Mondriaanstraat in Amsterdam Niew-West on Thursday evening, died of his injuries. The police have not yet identified him, though local residents say he was a 19-year-old boy, Het Parool reports.
The shooting happened around 10:15 p.m., near the crossing with Jan Tooropstraat. The victim was found in front of one of the homes io the street. He was unconscious.
A few streets away, on Thorn Prikkerstraat, a burning car was found around 4:15 a.m. On Friday morning a police spokesperson could not tell Het Parool whether this may be a getaway car in the shooting. The car was towed away for investigation.
The police are looking for two suspects. Both wore dark clothes, one a hooded sweater. They walked in different directions after the shooting.
