Baby abducted from Brabant supermarket
A baby was abducted outside a Lidl supermarket on Nieuwstraat in the Noord-Brabant town of Eersel on Monday morning. The child was forcibly taken, a police spokesperson confirmed to Omroep Brabant.
Bystanders told the broadcaster that a woman carrying a child in a Maxi Cosi walked out of the supermarket towards the parking lot when a man came up, grabbed the Maxi Cosi and child from her arms and left in a car.
The police are looking for a dark blue or black Mercedes ML 270 with license plate 94-GK-PB, according to a report sent via citizen alert system Burgernet just after 10:00 a.m. Local residents are called on to keep an eye out for the car, but not to take any action themselves.
The police believe this case lies in the "relational sphere" and will say nothing further about it at this time, according to the broadcaster.
