Police free boy abducted from Amsterdam street; 3 in custody
The police freed a boy who was abducted from the Zeeburgerdijk in Amsterdam on Friday morning. They found him in the suspects’ car after a brief chase. Three suspects are in custody.
At around 8:50 a.m. this morning, the police received multiple reports about a boy being dragged into a car against his will on Zeeburgerdijk. A short time later, officers spotted the car driving on the A10 toward Amsterdam-Noord and gave chase.
At the S115 Durgerdam exit of the A10, the police managed to box the car in and force it to a halt. “The victim was found tied up in the back seat.” The police did not say anything about the boy’s condition, only that they freed him.
Officers arrested three suspects. They are in restricted custody, which means that they are only allowed contact with their lawyers. They are suspected of unlawful deprivation of liberty and assault.
The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this abduction and have asked witnesses or anyone else with relevant information or camera footage to come forward.
