Man hurt in Roosendaal shooting; suspect arrested

A 22-year-old man was wounded in a shooting incident on Diamantdijk in Roosendaal on Tuesday afternoon. A 29-year-old man was arrested, NU.nl reports.

The police received a report about armed men in balaclavas on Diamantstraat. Just outside the police station, responding police officers found two men fighting at their cars. The officers broke up the fight and noticed that one man was injured.

The man told the police that he had been shot. The other man was arrested on the spot. The wounded man was taken to hospital for treatment. Both men are from Roosendaal.

Exactly what happened is not yet clear, though the police believe that the two men were the reason for the report from Diamantstraat. The police closed down part of Nieuwstraat and Diamantdijk for investigation.
