Two more arrested in 2015 gangland murder

On Tuesday the police arrested another two men suspected of involvement in the assassination of Amsterdam criminal Eaneas Lomp in Krommenie in 2015. Last week 39-year-old Dani M. was arrested in connection with this same case.

The suspects arrested on Tuesday are 23-year-old Hicham M. and 27-year-old Omar L., both from Amsterdam, NU.nl reports. They will be arraigned on Friday.

Both suspects were already in custody in connection with the murder of 27-year-old Chahid Yakhlaf in Kerkdriel, also in 2015. They are also suspected of an attempted assassination on criminal Nourdine A. in 2016. All three victims are connected to the Amsterdam criminal circuit.

The police believe that Omar L. ordered the assassination of Yakhlaf and the attempted one on Nourdine A. as revenge for the murder of his brother, who was killed in a double assassination in Staatsliedenbuurt in 2012 - the incident considered the starting point of the Amsterdam gang war. These suspiciouns are based on messeges intercepted from Ennetcomm a provider of encrypted phones.

Both Nourdine A. and Yakhlaf are linked to criminal kingpin Gwenette Martha, who was assassinated in 2014. The authorities believe that Martha ordered the Staatsliedenbuurt assassinations. Eaneas Lomp and Dani M. are also connected to the group around Martha.
