101-year-old woman accosted, robbed on street; 91-year-old hurt in burglary
A 101-year-old woman was robbed in her Utrecht home by a beggar who followed her home from the store on Wednesday morning. And in Best a 91-year-old woman was injured by a burglar who came into her home while she was sleeping early that same morning.
The Utrecht victim went to a store on Adriaen van Ostadelaan on Wednesday morning, NU.nl reports. The beggar was outside the store when she left, but she ignored him. He followed her as she walked back home and forced his way into her home. According to the police, the woman tried to push the beggar out of her home, and in the struggle he grabbed her watch and fled. The elderly woman was physically unhurt, but is very shocked by the incident and the loss of her watch, which was very precious to her.
