Safe found with car involved in fatal accident on A50 highway
The police found a safe at the scene of a fatal accident on the A50 at the Valburg Interchange in Gelderland early this morning. Two people died, and one got badly hurt in the crash. Investigators suspect they may have been fleeing the scene of a burglary when they crashed, the Gelderland police said on X.
The accident happened at around 3:30 a.m. on the A50 highway at the Valburg Interchange to the A15 toward Bemmel. The car appears to have flown out of a bend at high speed, crashing through the crash barrier and ending up between the adjacent trees. According to the police, this was a single-vehicle accident.
Someone was spotted in the area “who may have been involved in the accident,” the police said. Investigators are looking for them. A police spokesperson told ANP that the person may have been a fourth occupant in the car. “We have no indications that there was a fourth occupant, but we cannot rule that out either,”
The police are investigating what happened and expect that this will take some time.
