Elderly man, 91, injured in violent Amsterdam home invasion robbery

A 91-year-old man from Amsterdam-Noord was injured and robbed in a home invasion on Saturday night. Locals told AT5 that the elderly victim had been robbed several times in the past. The police confirmed that it had happened at least once before.

Two men rang the elderly man’s doorbell on Resedastraat at around 10:40 p.m. on Saturday. The victim thought it must be his neighbor and opened the door, a police spokesperson told AT5.

The perpetrators forced their way inside, grabbed some personal belongings, and left. It is unclear how the elderly man got hurt, but paramedics treated him after the robbery.

The police are investigating and asked witnesses to come forward. The elderly man screamed during the home invasion. Investigators hope that witnesses may have heard that and noticed anything striking around that time.
