Man found dead in Dutch town; police investigating

A 55-year-old man was found dead in his home in the Overijssel town of Slagharen on Sunday morning. The police are investigating whether he was murdered.

The home is located on Geert Michelsweg. According to Tubantia, the police closed down the street on Sunday morning and a team from the Netherlands Forensic Institute and two fire trucks were at the scene.

A police spokesperson would not tell the newspaper whether the victim was killed in an accident or in a crime. "In the interests of the investigation", he said. "However, the circumstances in which the victim was found is in any case cause for further invesetigation."
