Resident stabbed in Wierden apartment complex; Other resident found dead nearby

The police found a seriously injured person with stab wounds in their apartment in Wierden, Overijssel, on Monday morning. Another resident of the apartment complex was found dead nearby. The injured woman was rushed to the hospital under the supervision of a trauma doctor. The police later confirmed that her life is no longer in danger and that she is recovering.
Locals told RTV Oost that the injured resident is a woman. The deceased person is a man who was found just outside the apartment complex. The police have not confirmed this. It is unclear whether the two victims lived in the same apartment or just in the same building.
According to the police, they responded to the apartment on Stationsplein at around 7:00 a.m. after receiving a report of a possible stabbing and found the two victims. They are investigating what happened. “An incident in the relational sphere is not ruled out,” a police spokesperson told the regional broadcaster.
The police cordoned off the area around the apartment complex and placed a screen and a tent at the entrance. The investigation is expected to take some time.
