On July 11th the police pulled over a delivery van on the A30 near the Gelderland town of Lunteren and found 132 kilograms of heroin and several firearms inside. The driver and passenger were arrested, the police announced on Friday.

The police pulled the van over for a traffic check and noticed some illegal items. Upon further investigation, the police found hidden compartments containing the drugs as well as two gun trains, eight small arms, a shotgun, a silencer and a large amount of ammunition.

The two men were arrested for possession of illegal firearms and drugs. They are a 46-year-old Bulgarian and a 33-year-old Dutchman.

"In connection with the investigation and the restrictions the suspects were in, the arrests and findings are only now communicated", the police said.
