Shooting in Utrecht apartment building; one killed

A shooting in an apartment building in the Utrecht neighborhood of Overvecht left one person dead early on Thursday morning. The circumstances surrounding the shooting is still very unclear, NOS reports.

The shooting happened around 1:45 a.m. in an apartment building on Faustdreef. According to the broadcaster, it happened on the porch of an apartment.

The police are doing a trace evidence investigation at the apartment.

Around the same time a burning car was found elsewhere in the Overvecht neighborhood. The car was found burning on Vulcanusdreef, about a kilometer from the shooting. The police are investigating whether the car is linked to the shooting.
