Three injured in serious hit-and-run accident; driver turns self in
Three people were hurt in a serious hit-and-run accident involving five cars on the A16 near Zevenbergen on Thursday afternoon. The responsible driver, a 32-year-old woman, turned herself in to the police later that evening, AD reports.
The accident happened around 5:40 p.m. The woman lost control of her white Fiat, causing the car behind her to slam on the brakes. A chain collision involving three other cars followed.
The 32-year-old woman from Dordrecht left the scene of the accident, but later turned herself in. She claims she did not notice the chaos, according to AD.
Three people, including a 2-year-old child, sustained minor injuries. They were taken to a hospital for an examination. Three of the cars were damaged to such an extent that they had to be towed away by a salvage company.
