Dutch cop prosecuted for sexually abusing a minor

A police officer from Schinnen is being prosecuted for sexually abusing an underage girl, the Public Prosecutor confirmed to L1. The police officer was suspended by the police department in Heerlen early in November.

According to Limburg media, the police officer is suspected of sexually abusing a girl he met at a youth welfare club in Schinnen. Both the cop and the underage girl volunteered at youth club Jongeren Intiatief Schinnen.

Exactly what the police officer is being charged with, the Prosecutor would not say. "The investigation has been completed and viewed by the prosecutor. In time the suspect will appear in court", was all the prosecutor would say. When the hearing will be is unclear.
