Dutch man shot and killed on Philippines island

A 59-year-old Dutch man was shot and killed on the Philippines island of Mindanao on Sunday evening, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to newspaper AD. The man was holidaying in the Philippines, something he's done quite often. So far little is known about the circumstances surrounding the shooting, according to the spokesperson. The shooting happened around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, local time, in the town of Manticao. The Dutch tourist was hit in the head by two bullets. Local media reports that he was trying t seduce a 17-year-old girl at the time, according to AD. The victim's relatives were informed about his death on Monday. A criminal investigation was launched by the Philippine police. As far is known, no one was arrested yet.
