Bullied boy donates 25 cm ponytail to charity

Jona, an 11-year-old boy, ignored bullies and comments for three years to grow his hair long enough for making a wig. Last week he finally had a haircut and donated a 25 cm ponytail to wig making charity Haarwensen, RTV Noord-Holland reports.

The Heiloo boy decided to grow his hair after he saw a little boy with childhood cancer three years ago. The fact that the boy had no hair made quite an impression on Jona, who decided to something about it. Annet Dekker, the owner of the hairdressers where Jona got his first haircut in three years, posted photos of the event on Facebook According to her, Jona had to withstand three years of bullies over his long hair. "Despite comments he persisted and today it can be cut. How many likes for this lovable hero?" Dekker wrote. Over 143 thousand likes it turns out. Jona's hair was sent to be made into a wig.
