Four killed in Drenthe car accident
Three adults and a child were killed when the car they were in crashed into the water in Stieltjeskanaal in Drenthe on Saturday. All four victims came from Stieltjeskanaal.
Passersby saw the car with a trailer crash into the water, according to RTL Nieuws. One of them jumped into the water, but could do nothing for those inside the car.
Emergency services arrived at the scene and divers removed the occupants from the car. Paramedics tried to resuscitate the victims, but to no avail.
According to Blik op Nieuws, the victims are two men aged 65 and 44 years, a 34-year-old woman and a 2-year-old child. NOS reports that they were a family of grandfather, parents and young child.
Traffic specialists are investigating the cause of the accident.
