Hudson's Bay confirms first four Netherlands locations
Canadian department store chain Hudson's Bay confirmed its first four branches in the Netherlands. They will be in Amsterdam, Tilburg and Breda. The company is also opening a Saks OFF 5th store in Amsterdam, NU.nl reports.
Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) recently announced its intentions to open 20 branches in the Netherlands. The company already signed long-term leases for nearly 50 thousand square meters of retail space.
The Amsterdam locations will be in the Vleeshal building and on Rokin 21 and 49. The first Saks OFF 5th store will open in the Kalvertoren on Kalverstraat.
In Breda the Hudson's Bay branch will be in the De Barones shopping center. And the one in Tilburg will be on Heuvelstraat 33.
The Canadian chain plans to jump on the gap left in the Dutch retail market by V&D's bankruptcy. "We are overwhelmed by the support for HBC in the Netherlands since we announced our entry to the market last week", HBC director Richard Baker said. "I am very pleased with the progress made by the team in securing our first four stores in prime locations.
