Feyenoord wins Dutch Cup with 2-1 victory over FC Utrecht

Feyenoord won the KNVB Cup with a 2-1 victory against FC Utrecht in Rotterdam stadium De Kuip on Sunday. This is the 12th time the Rotterdam team's won the Cup. Feyenoord took the lead in the first half with a goal b Michiel Kramor. In the second half Ramon Leeuwen scored, bringing the score up to 1-1. The winning goal was scored in the 75th minute by Eljero Elia. Elia beat Utrecht goalkeeper Filip Bednarek by kicking the ball to his near post. The ball rebounded off the frame, off the goalkeeper's back and into the frame for a score. Which means that the unfortunate Bednarek was credited with an own goal, according to AP. "I really blame myself", Bednarek, who stood in for injured Robbin Ruiter, said to broadcaster NOS after the match. "I wanted to be important for the team and that did not succeed. It should have been a crucial moment to pull the team through." He will remember this moment for some time. "We were so close, but so far away. This is a bitter pill for me to swallow."
