White heroin dealer arraigned in Amsterdam
The drug dealer suspected of selling white heroin as cocaine will remain in custody for two weeks, the court in Amsterdam decided after his arraignment this morning. The magistrate decided that there are enough "serious objections" against him to keep him in custody, Volkskrant reports.
The 42 year old man turned himself in to the police on Saturday after recognizing himself in pictures released by the police. The pictures come from surveillance camera footage. The camera recorded him selling drugs to three Danish tourists on Stadhouderskade in Amsterdam. The Danish tourists later ended up in hospital.
The suspect's lawyer told De Telegraaf that his client was shocked when he realized that the police suspect him of selling white heroin as cocaine. He immediately tried to come into contact with his dealer, but failed to reach him. He then turned himself in to the police.
