Amsterdam grocer green lights Disco Shopping

The Dirk van den Broek on the Marie Heinekenplein in Amsterdam has given the go ahead for a Disco Shopping day next month. Registration for the event starts Tuesday at 3 p.m. Update: The event sold out in under an hour. The first Disco Shopping event in the Netherlands will happen on April 10th after the grocer closes. The organizers came up with the idea - a disco dance party in a supermarket - after receiving a message from a student. The Facebook event page already has 1.2 thousand people indicating that they will attend. The party in the supermarket will include disco lights, a dance battle and a disco bowling alley. Only 500 "shoppers" can attend the event. To participate you have to buy a "shopping list" in advance for 7.50 euros and dress in 70's clothing. "Shoppers" will receive a full bag of groceries. Registration starts today at 15:00. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZSwIV34gmM&feature=youtu.be
