Ajax expecting fine after Legia Warsaw incidents
Amsterdam football club Ajax is expecting a fine from UEFA for incidents which occurred during the home match against Legia Warsaw in February, the Parool reports.
After Ajax's Polish striker, Arek Milik, scored the only goal of the game, an object was thrown on the pitch. The club is looking for the perpetrator so he can be fined. Additionally, some Ajax supporters also blocked the stairs in the south tribune, preventing Warsaw fans from leaving the stadium.
A similar incident previously happened during a match against Apoel Nicosia, for which Ajax already received a fine.
Ajax emphasises the importance of free access to the stairs in the stadium. The stairs are of great importance in case of an evacuation, but if the supporters are occupying the stairs, they are blocking the access from rescue workers in case of an emergency, Het Parool reports.
