Refugee children held in detention center against judge's order: MP

The D66 wants clarification from State Secretary Fred Teeven of Security and Justice on why a refugee family with two small children have been put in detention, De Telegraaf reports. D66 Member of Parliament Gerard Schouw yesterday put written questions to the Secretary of State based on a report from Defense for Children. According to the organization, the refugee family, which includes two boys of 5 and 6 years old, has been placed in the family detention center in Zeist, without the interests of the children taken into consideration "Even the judge ruled time and again that this is not allowed." Schouw said to the newspaper.
