A'dam officials join Moroccan team prosecuting double homicide

The Public Prosecution Authority (OM) has transferred the criminal file of Hamza B., who is a suspect in the Staatsliedenbuurt execution case in Amsterdam, to Moroccan authorities. On Wednesday, B. attempted to convince the court to prevent the Department of Justice from delegating his case to Morocco though an emergency procedure. The Department of Justice announced that B.'s criminal file was formally handed over to Morocco by minister Ivo Opstelten (Security and Justice) on Thursday last week. Yesterday's transfer was merely a symbolic affair. Hamza B.(26) is suspected of involvement in the double execution that happened in the Staatsliedenbuurt in Amsterdam on the 19th of December, 2012. The victims were 21-year old Saïd el Yazidi and 28-year old Youssef Lkhorf. Authorities say Hamza B. fired shots with automatic weapons at the Range Rover the victims were sitting in and also opened fire at two motorcycle policemen while fleeing.
