Pepper spray was released at four Amsterdam Dance Event parties over the weekend. Multiple attendees had to be treated for burning eyes and breathing problems, though no one had to go to hospital. Despite these incidents, the city of Amsterdam speaks of a "calm" 23rd edition of the dance festival.

Customs and police officers discovered 110 kilograms of cocaine while checking the cargo of an Iranian truck in Amsterdam's Westelijk Havengebied on July 28th, the investigative department for the Tax Authorities FIOD announced. Three men were arrested.

Two people were arrested on Wednesday during an investigation into a large-scale British Pound counterfeiting scheme. The suspects are a 58-year old man from Stein and a 63-year from Echt-Susteren.

At least twelve barracks were destroyed by a fire that was discovered around 5.30am in Westelijke Havengebied, the harbor area in west Amsterdam. Judging by the tires and cars that were ablaze, many of the burnt-down structures housed repair shops.
