A 14-year-old bicycle thief was arrested in Varsseveld on Tuesday after a short chase and a struggle, during which he tried to steal the arresting officer's gun.
A 31-year old woman was arrested in Delden, Twente at the end of July after spending two years making a career out of stealing jewelry from retirement homes in Apeldoorn, Deventer and Raalte. Tonight's episode of Opsporing Verzocht will focus on returning the hoard of jewelry back to their rightful owners.
Homecare Organization Sensire closes the office in Varsseveld on Monday. This was decided by the management to guarantee the safety of the staff. Broadcaster Omroep Gelderland reported on Thursday that this was the content of a letter which Sensire wrote to the staff.
On Monday a protest is planned in front of the head quarters, because Sensire is planning to dismiss 1,100 employees. Sensire says it can not guarantee the safety of the office staff.
The employees will be asked to do their work from home or another location, reported Omroep Gelderland.
About 100 employees of home care provider Sensire have occupied the lobby of the headquarters in Varsseveld on Tuesday. They demanded that the Board waives the announced dismissal of 1,100 employees. The occupation ended around midnight.
Minister of Social Affairs and Employment, Lodewijk Asscher, has promised that he is going to talk with the FNV this weekend, to find a solution for the mass dismissal, reported AbvakaboFNV.
