The Netherlands, in collaboration with UNESCO, is organizing an international conference on the freedom of the press in May next year, Minister Stef Blok of Foreign Affairs said in BBC program Newsnight. Blok is concerned about harassment and violence against journalists around the world.
The one-of-a-kind Utrecht Psalter is to be removed this week from its highly secure fireproof and waterproof vault at the Utrecht University museum, and will be displayed for a month at the Museum Catharijneconvent. The Psalter will be shown off in a glass case from October 21 until November 22.

Limited edition bottles of water from Amsterdam canals are being marketed by an advertising agency in honor of the 400th birthday of the city's famous canal ring. Iris Worldwide created and designed the Amsterdam Canal Aqua bottles, each containing water from one of four different canals, just in time to commemorate the occasion.
