A fifth of Dutch companies with at least 10 employees analyze so-called Big Data - large amounts of unstructured data, according to Statistics Netherlands. This often involves analysis of their own data, but one in 10 companies also analyze data from outside the company.

Big data analysis is more common in large companies than smaller ones. About 15 percent of companies with between 10 and 20 employees do it, compared to 42 percent of companies with 500 or more employees.

From this autumn travel agencies' trip information will include data on how much damage consumers' vacations will cause to the climate. Travel industry association ANVR is currently researching how to best make this information available.

Empty charter planes will be flying to the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheik on Sunday and Tuesday to pick up the Dutch tourists currently holidaying there. KLM has decided that people on the airline's flight to Amsterdam from Cairo will only be allowed hand luggage and that no suitcases will be loaded into the airplane's hold at the airport. Travel agencies TUI Nederland and Neckermann Travel also opted for this measure.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has updated its travel advisory for Tunisia. The Ministry believes that more attacks may follow. Dutch travel agencies are bringing their travelers back to the Netherlands

The bankrupt travel companies Baobab Travel and Travel Summum get a restart. Sawadee Travel announced on Thursday to take over both travel agencies.

Baobab and Summum were part of Terra Travel, which was bankrupt last. In late August the organization reported to the Travel Compensation Fund (SGR) that it could no longer meet its financial obligations.
