An 18-year-old autistic girl is no longer allowed to enter the school grounds or -building of Rombouts College in Brunssum, Limburg. If she does show up at the school, she will be fined 100 euros each time, to a maximum of 10 thousand euros, the court in Maastricht ruled on Wednesday, De Limburger reports.

Around 23 thousand chickens were killed in a barn fire in Ospel, Limburg during the early hours of Thursday morning. The chickens could not be saved, the Limburg fire department said, ANP reports.

The fire started shortly after midnight in the barn of a company on Ommelpad. Firefighters managed to stop it spreading to two adjacent barns. No person was hurt. 

The cause of the fire is not yet clear.

A 34-year-old man was seriously injured in a shooting on Rijksweg Zuid in Geleen on Sunday morning. He died of his injuries in hospital later that day. A woman was also injured. She was allowed to leave the hospital on Sunday afternoon, NU.nl reports.

The incident happened around 7:00 a.m. on the street of the Limburg city. Multiple shots were fired in front of a house on Rijksweg Zuid, after which the suspects fled in the car. The getaway car was found in nearby Brunssum. Two suspects were arrested, and more arrests may follow, the police said according to the newspaper.

A man was found dead on Uliker in Opsel, Limburg on Friday morning. The police are looking for a person wearing one shoe, according to a description spread on Burgernet.

The man has not yet been identified, according to De Limburger. The cause of his death is also unclear.

A car was found further up the road. It had slipped into a ditch, the newspaper writes. The police closed the road and started an investigation.

The police are looking for 17-year-old Sabrina Kovac from Soest. The teenager left her home on Tuesday and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

A photo of Sabrina is being spread around. The police call on people in Gelderland and Limburg in particular to keep an eye out for Sabrina, because she has friends in those provinces, according to RTV Utrecht.

"We do not immediately assume a crime, but we are worried. A girl of that age should sleep at home in the night, or at least sleep where she belongs", police spokesperson Bernhard Jens said to the broadcaster.

A warehouse filled with vintage cars was destroyed in a fire in Kerkrade, Limburg on Friday morning. The fire department has the fire under control and is working on extinguishing it, AD reports.

The fire started around 5:30 a.m. in the warehouse on Wiebachstraat, near Parkstad Limburg Stadium. The cause of the fire is still unknown. No one was injured. The fire also spread to an adjacent tile store, but firefighters managed to save its showroom.

Crime in Amsterdam fell by 5 percent in 2017 compared to the year before. There were fewer cases of pickpockets, muggings, and violent threats, but the number of home burglaries and robberies increased. Nationwide crime is steadily declining,  according to figures the National Police will publish on Thursday, the Volkskrant reports.

Men in the Limburg region massively responded to the police's call to give a DNA sample for a kinship investigation in the 1998 from Heibloem. On Saturday alone, 1,225 men gave samples. The police even opened an extra collection point in Landgraaf to process the massive response, the Telegraaf reports.

The police raided a dozen locations in Oost-Brabant, Limburg and Gelderland early on Wednesday morning as part of an ongoing investigation into the trade of chemicals and narcotics. Five suspects were arrested, the police said in a statement.

The raids started at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Police officers stormed homes and storage units in Geldrop, Helmond, Someren, Venlo, Venray, Nieuw Bergen and Velddriel. The police are still searching through these locations, and expect that this will take up a large part of the day.

Around a dozen beavers were shot in Limburg in an effort to protect infrastructure in the province, making Limburg the first province in which this protected species is culled. In a significant part of the Netherlands temperatures dropped below zero early Monday morning. Temperatures dipped down to -3 degrees Celsius in the north, -1 in the center and 2 degrees in the south, together with a moderate northeastern wind that was relatively strong at the seaside. Meteorologists from weather website Buienradar predicted the overnight wind chill would make it feel as if it were 10 degrees below zero.

Two people were arrested on Thursday in connection with the death of a baby in Brunssum, Limburg last week. The suspects were the baby's childminders, well-informed sources told De Limburger.

On Wednesday last week, emergency services responded to a home in Brunssum after a report of a sick child. The five month old baby was resuscitated on the spot and rushed to the hospital, where the child died a short time later. The police launched an investigation due to doubt about the cause of the child's death. The investigation revealed that the baby did not die of natural causes.

On Wednesday night the police prevented a helicopter hijacking in Limburg. According to a statement released by the police, criminals from the Amsterdam underworld wanted to use this helicopter to break a convict out of the penitentiary in Roermond. During the police intervention in Roosteren, one suspect was shot by a member of a SWAT team. He died of his injuries. Three others were arrested.

An older couple was arrested in Gennep, Limburg in an Dutch-led international investigation into fraud and money laundering, the Public Prosecutor announced. The 81-year-old man and 61-year-old woman are accused of tax fraud, money laundering, forgery and illegal banking. According to the Prosecutor, the amount involved in the couple's crimes is estimated at over 41 million euros.
